Hello, I'm wondering if a C&J 325 boot would fit somewhat like a Trickers Stow boot - both being the same UK size. I also have Sargent and Loake boots in UK8.5 that fit well. Grenson UK9G are too large, but fit OK with a thicker sock. Hoping the C&J UK9 won't fit like that though. It is a D fitting...

I have C&J loafers UK9 (regular size is UK8.5 for Northampton boots and shoes), but they're very tight. Possibly an issue with instep/arch more than the size. I can't wear them. I gave them to a friend.

I'm just wondering if all C&J shoes are like this, even a country boot, or if that's just the loafer...

I reckon most people consider both the 325 and the Stow (4497) to be true to size, and take the same size in both. They fit differently, the Stow having a rounder but also perhaps shorter (more "stubby") toe box, with the 325 a bit sleeker. Both lasts are to the generous side.

Thank you, can you usually expect C&J boots to fit true to size, or at least that the same size in a Trickers, Loake or Sargent boot would be the same for C&J boots?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
