that was directed better than almost any tv episode i've seen of any show. felt like the best domestic violence horror movie never made.

It was directed by Rian Johnson, who also did the third season Fly episode (and directed a number of movies: Brick, Brothers Bloom, and Looper which is coming out this fall).

It seems like so much has happened in the one year since Walt was diagnosed. I mean, we knew the timeline with the flash forward but I guess seeing that they placed the current season one year after his diagnosis made me say "Damn!"

RE: Piob's first post, I think that is probably what they are going for with this season. Walt is unraveling, and there can't be a happy ending for his character. Vince Gilligan has pretty much said that.

Ah, Gort, that was just me talking out of ******.

man you are dim,i never said he wasnt unraveling or becoming what you say he is.
the part you talking out of your ass is saying that it somehow diminishes the show or is becoming less entertaining .
its probably your fave show and you dont even know it.
problem is you are so entrenched in your WRONG point of view you cant even comprehend what the other person is posting.

It strikes me that having this take place in a one season city makes it hard to keep track of the passage of time.

Probably done on purpose.

Weeds had a problem in that the first several seasons were continuous in program time. The youngest boy kept getting bigger. They solved it last year by having a three year gap in program time between season six and seven.

Oh, forgot to mention...Hank taking over the local DEA office? They are so setting up the Hank/Walt finale showdown. Unless they go for something out of the box. I also thought that cold open with the big gun? Walt ends up rescuing Hank from someone and Walt goes down in a blaze of redemptive glory saving Hank.

Vince Gilligan said episode 5 was where he lost sympathy for Walt. I kind of wish they wouldn't telegraph it like that but something real is about to go down. I'm guessing something bad happens to Skyler.
