It's a Vitra Eames DAW in moulded plastic.

Not sure if you'd be interested in putting a bench/table with hairpin legs together yourself, but its usually pretty easy to pick up a piece of hardwood like the one used for that table (albiet maybe not as large) on the cheap from a decent lumberyard. You can buy the legs online (http://www.ianmaclean.com/), for fairly cheap as well. I've been considering putting something like that table together for a while.

To be honest, though, $350 seems like a pretty fair price.
