The Eames lounge is great. One example I saw which I really thought was fantastic was in dark blue all grain and palisander.

I like the cream, but I'd never buy it. I actually considered the white ash version, but I'd want it with the espresso leather which they don't offer.

We're so much better than this. We circumnavigate the universe, manfully braving trial and tribulation, only to discover that the first chair we ever saw, in its OG iteration, was the best possible chair in the best possible world.

Cream version is classy. I have Knoll chairs in original cream wool/linen and they held up very well from 1972.

Remember when @GeneralEmployer was going on about discounts and how anyone could get massive discounts so @MarkI challenged him to get an Eames chair at 50% off and offered him a finder's fee?

Just to add another data point on discounts. I was in DWR last week and when I inquired about an item I did not see on the floor the sales associate told me that if I ended up purchasing I would “obviously” get a discount off sticker, “At least 20%.” He said it so nonchalantly as if it was a given. That was without haggling in the slightest

The only people who don’t believe in 20-50% discounts on high-end modern furniture are people who have never bought any. Or got tragically, cluelessly ripped off.

I’ve never done worse than 40% and have done as well as 60%+. All from authorized dealers.
