Choosing right color shoe polish for Allen Edmonds (AE) dress shoes

Hello advice giver,

I recently purchased a pair of Allen Edmonds Park Avenue Cap-toe Oxford Dress Shoes (“Mahogany” colored). I am completely new to the world of leather dress shoes. Therefore, I’m looking for advice regarding caring for the leather (exterior and interior) as well as the most recommended shoe polish (with the correct color). I have been having a very hard time finding any information on Mahogany colored AE shoe polish and care. I’ve attached a few photos for reference. Excuse the baby changer, I used the white cloth and black box cover as color references, to compare the color of the shoes to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You’re gonna want to watch videos on the subject. Cream polishes add pigment. Wax polish, more shine and less color….are the very basics.
Saphir Mahogany is the color.

Have you tried connecting with AE customer service by phone or chat on the website? It seems that the website recommends a burgundy for their merlot, mahogany and oxblood products. I have that polish and use it for a burgundy leather cap toe, similar to this:

It really is a true burgundy and your shoe has stronger tones of brown. I would suggest perhaps seeking input from your local cobbler. If not accessible, then the above suggestion of Saphir Mahogany may be your best bet.

you don't have to be too exact here in my experience. Less is more with shoe cream/polish in any case. As you acquire more shoes you will probably end up with a few different colors.

For those shoes I'd suggest Saphir dark brown for the toe cap at least and probably tobacco brown for the rest of the shoe. Saphir Mahogany is reddish, which I am not seeing in your photos unless the color is different IRL.

It honestly seems more like dark brown with hints of red. I’m going to bring it to a local cobbler and see what they recommend.

I've used AE's Burgundy polish, and it really leans towards the red end of the spectrum. I would not use it on your shoes.
