I've had an amazing pair of Hurley chino shorts for the last 12 years or so. As of last year, they are starting to look a little weathered. I went to look at their site, thinking about getting a new pair, and their best material ones are now a 60-40 blend (cotton/polyester twill). From the photo, the cut actually looks like it's changed little, if at all, which is perfect on me. I actually can't find a tag in my current pair to know if they're the same material blend. However, given the feel of them, and the price I paid in 2001-2003 ($70) vs. the cost now (about $50) I honestly can't think they were more than 20% poly, if not 100% cotton. So, what's comparable these days? I wear these multiple times per week in the summer, and have for over a decade. Obviously I've learned the lesson that, when I find something similarly good, I should get multiples in the same colour, as well as any other colours of the same that I want. Sadly, I didn't do that when I was 19, or 21, and bought these ones. What's something of comparable quality these days? I would happily pay $70-$100 for something just as good, and that fits me this well, if it exists these days.

So who makes really high quality chino shorts?

Jcrew got some interesting ones. Never tried them though.

Uniqlo got some thin ones but their fit is spot on. At least for me.
