Do you gentlemen ever wear cashmere jumpers with no undershirt and wash them after each wear? Or do you only wear them with a t shirt underneath to not have to wash them after every wear?

I always wear my knitwear over a shirt or an undershirt, but wool seems to have the magical property of cleaning itself, or, maybe better, not getting easily dirty. So I wash my wool and cashmere garments not often, actually very seldom.

@Johnny80 @HotDilf how's the sizing on Colombo knitwear? I see that the size label corresponds to the chest width of the garment, based on the sizing charts (EU50 = 50cm chest, EU52 = 52cm chest), is that accurate? How about the length?

depends on the type of style. The back length (without turtleneck) size EU48 is 65cm, size EU50 67cm. Their chart is the same"copy pasted" for everything as far as i know, but some are definitely on the relaxed fit and some on more snug fit.
When im not in Italy, at their warehouse, i always ask them to measure for me the chest, back length and bottom hem.
Also, they have thicker garments with two different arm circumference. One that can be worn by itself and snug your arms, and the others with some room to be worn even with a shirt

Yeah I noticed the sizing chart seems to be a copy-pasted one across everything, from thin looking garments to thick/chunky ones. Maybe I'll drop them an email to get measurements on the specific model I'm interested in.

Currently interested in this turtleneck. I also noticed that they use "blue" and "navy" on similar colors across different models which is a bit confusing.

Do you mind measuring the length and width at the hem for the same size? I think I might go for size 50 (usually I prefer 51-52cm chest width).
Of course, for length I have 63 cm, measured the same way as on Colhay's website. The width at the hem is not totally accurate anymore since (I suspect due to the elastane woven in the ribbing) it shrinked a little bit after washing (has no effect while wearing). It should be around 40cm, I believe.

Great, appreciate it! Thank you and @Johnny80 both. I'll share some pics when I buy mine, probably some time next month.

Very strange...63cm size IT48, did you washed it often since last year?
This one, never washed , never worn https://www.lanificiocolombo.com/co...weater-with-geometric-pattern-in-kid-cashmere
Size IT48 total back length from top collar to bottom hem 65.1cm , half chest 48.3cm, measured on flat table. I place this example because they are their more fitted garment cut that is close to what epsilon22 wants
Another turtleneck same IT48 with more relaxed fit is this one
this has the same 65cm length but half chest 50cm and more room also in the sleeves

But the best way is to ask them to measure the garment you want in the size you want, as i do. They will send even pictures with the measurements without issues

Huh, weird. I took the measurements before my first wash actually.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
