On the same topic, do zip necks seem more casual to you then v necks? I’ve been thinking v necks look odd without a tie. And since my workplace is business casual, a zip neck would go nicely with chinos and John Lobb chukkas.

Well your not going to get the finest grade merino or tidy seaming, there just workhorses that keep going but they do have fairly tight knit and density for the money with no worries of shrinkage.

Tag says machine wash 30c. Bad things can only come from that ,so I hand wash with wool detergent, dry flat.

Charles most likely uses de scaled merino that's called superwash to have those washing instructions, it's not the greatest grade infact most of that ends up in the socks probably.
