I recall making no such agreement. This feels like a one-sided relationship. What's in it for me?!

So tell me... why anyone would opt for the BASE 991s when they can get the F-Type R for the same price? And this is ignoring the fact that the base 991s is a turd, and a reasonably loaded model is probably pushing 125-130k. You can literally load the F-Type with every option and it only increases the price by $10k.

I'm a big Porsche guy but Jaguar pretty much decimated the Carrera S with this offering.

Drove them both back to back. I found the 911 to still be the better driving car. Don't have time to fact check but I think it still performs slightly better all around, numbers wise

Jaguar is prettier, sounds better and is better value - I do agree with those points

Believe the Jaguar is close to 400lbs heavier than a 911S. For something to throw around a track I would still take a manual 911S.

Don't forget the GL63. I have it on good authority that it's an unbeatable combination.

I think you're mistaking the V8S for the F-Type R, which has 70 more horsepower. In any event, it's a great time to be a car enthusiast and even more so if you're looking for a car in or around the $100k mark.

And in other news, Porsche officially announced the Macan which is undoubtedly going to be their best selling vehicle ever. Base price is around $53k and after playing around on the configurator, I spec'd mine just how I'd order it for $62k. Not bad, Porsche, not bad at all. I can pretty much guarantee this will be my next company car. It's just a piss-off that we don't get the diesel engine (as usual).

Aren't there very reduced rates for car owners who put very small amounts of mileage on their cars? I have a track car out here in California which I drive mostly to track events and rarely on the streets. My insurance is still under $50 a month for basic coverage because of the low mileage option. I could imagine NY being somewhere around the same but I'm not too familiar with the city.

I've been quoted close to $200/month. I have a friend with a car who is close to $125/month, but even then, that's enough that renting a car once a month at $100-$150 makes more sense.

it's actually a horrible time to be a car enthusiast what with the lack of a proper transmission these days

jet, you know I'm with you on the MT but I think we've already lost the battle.
