Gents,

when I tell you that I wear
- UK 7.5 with Tricker's 4497s (UK 7 4444 is a bit tight)
- UK 7.5 with C&J 325 (335 too wide)
- UK 7 / US 7.5 E with Alden Barrie

... should I be okay with the Z 234H/S last in UK 7.5? Or is it considerably tighter? My critical zone is at the girth / pinky.

Update:

After talking behind the curtains with two of you and a great phone call with Kostas from 'The Noble Shoe' I have ordered a boot. I opted for my usual size and will report my experience these days.

[...] I have ordered a boot. I opted for my usual size and will report my experience these days.

As promised:

This lovely Stallone 8866 in Coimbra arrived today:

Looks are gorgeous, I love that the patina is rather restrained. Quality and workmanship is just great. I think these are fine boots price-wise.
The Stallone is a bit on the lightweight side of boots and out of curiosity I weighed them. A C&J Pembroke with Dainite is 728 g, a Tricker's Stow with Dainite is 753 g and the Burford with Dainite is 815 g. The Stallone is 542 g, I guess that this is mostly due to the material of the sole.

Unfortunately it is too big. The 234 last is longer and wider on my feet than my 4497s and 325 boots. That is also valid when I put on my thickest winter socks, with which the others sit slightly snug but not tight in an uncomfortable way. (Btw, the instep is higher than on the 4497s, I would say it is comparable to the 325.)
For those who wear the C&J 335 or Tricker's 4497s in 'Fitting 6' I assuje theseboots would be fine. I parted with my 335 boots and will do so with this CS pair. No Xmas boots for me this year. 😉

Hello,

How does the 445 last fit for wider feet? I am US 10E on the brannock and wear 9G (wide) on Loake Capital and was thinking of getting a field boot in size 9. I don't mind a looser fit if the alternative is overly snug or tight.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
