I received my first Captains of Crush grippers from Ironmind today (www.ironmind.com). I was scared off by the line on their store that said "most guys who lift weights can't close the #1" so I ordered the Trainer and the Sport. I've never trained grip besides farmer's walks so I was surprised that both were quite easy. I can rep the trainer at least 20 times.

I know J is into these (on #2 I think?) -- anyone else?

Ironmind said I can return them for an exchange -- should I keep the trainer for warm-ups and get a #1? Or swap both and get a #1 and #2?

The 1 is somewhat harder than the T, but not a challenge. I closed it right away, but can't rep it a zillion times like the T. I would get the 1 and the 2, because IMO it's better to have one you can't close and at least one you can rep a bit... but it's nice to have the T to warm up on as well. I'm sure you'll be repping the 1 pretty quickly.

I still haven't closed the 2, just haven't been spending that much time on the couch where they are sitting lately.

I closed the 2 once, but haven't been able to do it since. The damn thing tears up my hand. I need a leather glove or something.

I regularly do the #2, I can make it click with my right hand, I'm an RA and none of my residents (144 males and females between the ages of 17 and 20) can even get within 1/4th of an inch of closing them.
