buying suede chukkas...what color should I get?

I am wondering what color to get? I will be buying a pair of brown dress boots, so I want these chukkas to be my casual boot (I know they're already casual but I'd like the color to reflect that as well).

I was thinking a "honey" colored (basically a light tan), a slightly darker brown than the honey colored, or chocolate.

Which color is more versatile? Which would you find most appealing?

Also, on a side note, I'm new to fashion and definitely new to suede. Are there any rules when wearing suede? The different material throws me off and I feel like it can't go with certain types of clothes or colors. Any help on that would be appreciated!

Snuff would be my first choice, which I'm pretty sure is what you are describing when you say "honey".

These are the potential colors I'm looking at. I should say that I have a pair of chocolate suede chukkas currently, but they're kind of old at this point, so not really a priority to get chocolate ones, I can make do with the ones I have so I'm leaning more towards the other two to at least add a different color to my wardrobe

Hi, suede chukka boots can smarten up a casual outfit (instead of wearing trainers with jeans for example) or even dress down a suit. In the winter months, a tan/sand pair teamed with dark jeans, knitwear and a coat works. In the less colder months, you can wear them with a smart jacket and tailored trousers. The main issue with lighter coloured suede in the winter is upkeep. Protect with a spray before you wear them and if they get water damaged, stuff with paper to absorb as much moisture as possible. Keep them in a dark dry place as light exposure can fade the colour. All in all, suede chukka boots are a really versatile boot which ooze style and are comfortable too. I don't think you can go wrong with colour as the images you have shown are pretty neutral colours. Layer them with earthy colours and you won't go wrong: camel and olive green for example. Burgundy and navy also contrast well here. Happy hunting! G

I have a few suede chukkas... my "honey" Trickers are the ones I receive the most compliments on.

Suede also works really well paired with flannel pants - perfect for this time of year!
