What a dope.

Hi,

When I purchased this under a very specific search for XL, this popped up. I’m 6’2” 230 wear a 16.5-17X35/36 is this gonna be too small?

Shirt is a 16-36 Brooks Brothers MILANO. I told it will almost certainly not fit.

Nowhere had I used XL in the description or any of the sizing fields.

Has to be a glitch. I feel like it's along the same lines as the silly confused questions I've been getting all week about "what size is this".

Didn't even realize it was possible to not refund original shipping  guess I need to rethink this. It's not fun getting a return notification like every day or every other day. Might be attracting some careless buyers.. or I just don't know how to measure for ****. Thanks for sharing, now I know it's definitely not normal.

Same Fueco!

If you leave the box unchecked, it only refunds the purchase price. Checking the box refunds the original shipping as well. See below.

Speaking of glitches, was that Burberry thing ever figured out?

@txwoodworker

@SpooPoker is right re: statistic--maybe even a little optimistic. I agree with @Fueco on sizing. I tend to stay away from nuanced color questions (I just admit I cannot be more specific). I simply reason that the buyer is looking for something very specific and I am not looking to disappoint them--better they shop with someone with a more nuanced color vocabulary.

As for how I deal with questions, after a couple years of responding to every inquiry, I set-up an auto-reply through eBay's vacation settings that addresses 99.9% of the questions I receive (below). I still read every message and will reply quickly to questions that are not covered. At first, I made exceptions and responded to some people even if the auto-reply covered their question. After a short while, I found I did not benefit from doing so and now let the auto-reply do 100% of the work. I have only had one person complain about the auto-reply (it made him think I was a scammer), but he was offering less than 50% of asking price on a BIN item and was thus, no loss. I am sure the auto-reply turns off some legitimate and good potential customers, so you have to consider its use within the context of your business and goals. Throughout it all, remember @SpooPoker 's statistic.

Thank you for your message and interest in this item. We will do our best to respond to your inquiry within 24 hours. If your message falls into one of the below categories, please consider this our reply.

If you have written to make an offer on an item that does not have a “Best Offer” option, while we appreciate your interest, we will not be able to accommodate your offer.

If you have written to ask what the least amount of money we will take on an item with a Best Offer option, by way of agreement with our consignors, we cannot disclose this information.

If you have written to request additional pictures or information about an item, please be sure to look in the item’s listing description as it contains up to 20 photos of and all of the information we have about the item. Should you find after reviewing the listing description that the photographs or information you would like is not present, please write us again.

If you have written to ask about how an item will fit you, how the item will fit as compared to other items you own, or how the item will fit as compared to other items of the same tagged size, please understand that we are unable to answer these questions. All of our listings contain the item’s approximate measurements and when available, the item’s tagged size. You should use this information to determine fit. If that information is not sufficient for you to make a purchase decision, we would suggest not purchasing the item as we do not accept returns.

+1

and I find about .004% of those who ask questions actually win the item.

At 6'1 and 190#, I'm 16x35/36 in Milano. If he tries to button that shirt, those buttons are going to rocket off that shirt so fast they might enter orbit

Making up for lost time on this thread today ; )

@Brianpore and @SpooPoker are right about voicing complaints about the shift in dealing with false INAD cases. I call for every false INAD return despite knowing they won't close the cases. As one reasonable supervisor said to me, the only way eBay changes the policy is if it costs them money. Shipping charges and CSR time are costs for them. So, always ask that eBay cover the shipping charges on false INAD cases (even getting them to cover in one direction is a win) and keep CSRs and supervisors on the phone.

Brighton and Mitch were two very helpful and reasonable service reps. Mitch actually said to ask for him whenever I called, but to @Brianpore 's question, when I ask for him, the CS reps tell me it is impossible to connect a customer to a certain rep.

Ill start -

Ricky (a woman) was fantastic in removing three feedbacks, and successfully appealing a NAD case to my favor.

She was a bit icy at the start but some fun humor broke the ice and she was super accommodating.

Anyone else notice that eBay's sold listings, through the advanced search feature, isn't up to date? I searched for an item that I know sold yesterday/today (don't have the item number), and I'm not seeing it in the sold listings... Last sold listing I'm seeing is dated July 26...

I noticed that something I searched sold listings on showed no results today when it did yesterday.

Follow up on that Milano shirt.

So the buyer tried to make a cancel request, but since it was way past the 1 hr, limit the only option he had was to start a return, even the though the item wasn't shipped yet. Technically, he could have told me what was going on and I could cancel it from my end. Anyway, once the return got started, I couldn't cancel. But the return was only showing the the cost of the shirt, not the shipping the buyer had already paid.

I decide to call eBay today and let them sort it out. The rep I got wasn't a hundred percent sure how best to proceed, so she put me on hold to talk to a specialist or something. Came back and said ok, now you can either cancel it or do the return and refund the shipping separately. But once again I was thwarted.

So she said she would call me back once she got everything straight. Turns out the other rep, did something that screwed everything up, so the only way they could undo things is by categorizing it as No Fault.

The long and short of it, seller got his money back, and I kept my money from the sale. This is where a "making it rain" emoji would come in handy but I guess I'll settle for: :bigstar:
