Bill's Khaki tailoring questiong

So a few years past, in my zeal to obtain a nice pair of khaki pants, I purchased a pair of Bill's M1s on steep discount. Now that I am older I realize that they are bit too full for my taste.

Has anyone here had their bill's altered for a more trim fit? Is that even possible? I know that with pants that are more full, the process becomes more involved\\costly, but how much are we talking? Does it require excellent tailoring ability? I would appreciate any illumination on this topic!

I too have a pair of M1s that I never wear because they look and feel like a circus tent. But I'm fairly sure that even if they could be trimmed by a good tailor the cost would exceed the cost of a pair of M2s - factory seconds on eBay, for example - which can often be had for about forty dollars.

Try a pair of the new model M3. They are a trimmer fit than M2 and the have a shorter rise. They are available in plain front only and available in 8.5 oz twill in Khaki and Cement and Chamois Cloth in Khaki and Camel.

I was considering the M3s but I have heard that the sizing is off-kilter. Anything to this? Wouldn't altering them, difficult as that may be, still present a more affordable option than buying an altogether new pair of pants? Opinions?

8.5 Twill $110.00
Chamois $135.00

From us they include alterations.

The thing that I have noticed with the model 3 is that they fit snugger than M1 &2 so that's the hurdle you have get over if you've worn the others.
