Thanks, that's enough for me. 12 cm difference between front and back rise is very slim. Around 15 cm seems to be the stanard for high rise trousers, 17cm is pretty relaxed.

I think it depends on crotch space as well. I have a pair of Suitsupply MTM trousers with a 13 cm difference but increased crotch space and it fits good.

Interesting, that could be true although I can't myself picture how would that work helping me with a wedgie.

This article by Simon Crompton from this weekend aligns well with the thoughts I expressed about Berg & Berg's sales philosphy a couple of pages ago. Especially this paragraph:

"The reason to avoid going on sale too often, with too much stock, or too deep, is that customers will start to just wait for the sale. If the thing they want is always in the sale - and so they never miss out on it by waiting - why would they do anything else? They also start to think of the value of the product as being that discounted price."

How are people sizing on the Nelson overcoats?

I'm typically between sizes, and the sizing advise says to size down in that instance

I've tried measuring against garments I own and the shoulder measurements really seem pretty modest (which makes me think don't size down), but then the chest measurements are much bigger

Do you reckon the fit on these Alfies could be improved by some alterations? The pants seem to grab my bottom a bit too much, which I assume causes some of the twisting and creasing of the legs? The fabric is also quite lightweight, so peefect drape isnt probably achievable anyhow.

Could've sizing up been a better choice?

Looks like you need to size up - seem to be tight around seat, and then you'll still have to let them out through leg to get rid of that hug. Might even go up two sizes and take in waist a lot, depending on how it fits in the waist now

That's what I was afraid of. I got these trousers few months ago and I wasn't rigorous enough when trying them on. The waist fits perfectly, which probably fooled me to believe the size is automatically rught for me. Too bad the guy doing the hems didnt notice me of this, even though their shop is known for classic mens style.

I presume that, if we know this, they know it too. My guess would be that they expect to make most of their sales at discount and have crunched the numbers such that with the majority of sales happening at discount and a minority occurring at full price between the discount periods, they can make the margin they need. If not, we’ll all be writing replies in an “RIP Berg & Berg” thread in a couple of years.

just received the Antonio Charcoal flannels size 48; for anyone looking to buy, just a heads up that they run smaller than the sizing chart (it says 16.5 inches) but the actual sizing is at 15 inches. Kinda bummed as i've been looking forward to it all month. all the larger sizes are already sold out as well.

Not sure if going up two sizes is a great idea. That implies 8cm waist reduction, I've done that and the result was always bunching in that area. Fine if you cover your butt with a jacket, but otherwise it looks bad. Now I just give up if sizing up one size is not enough.
