I bought some Charles Tyrwhitt shirts. Being in desperate need of work shirts I stupidly washed them before trying them on.

The fabric isn't as nice as MJ Bale and the "slim fit" is quite baggy. The shirt cuffs are very loose so I feel like Bugsy Malone. I'll get mum onto that one.

In hindsight I should have gone an extra slim fit, or just have tolarated MJ Bale.

Can't go past MJB 5 for $200 at the outlet stores. Best value and wash well. These days I don't even bother trying anything else.

Oli, if you're unhappy with them, I think that you can send them back to CT any time in the first three months, regardless of whether they've been washed and/or worn.

At least, that used to be CT's policy - they may have changed it since it's been a few years since I bought anything from them.

In terms of value, TML on clearance + online code is hard to beat at $25 a shirt. I still have 5 shirts unopened - stocked up for when my current ones wear out. I think my navy micro check one is finally noticeably fraying after 2.5 years of regular wear.

Hi guys,
Just wondering if any of you fellas know of any female bespoke tailors, tailors who are women or made to measures institutions that do good work for women. Don't know of any in Sydney and would love to meet them.

Cheers

Can't do that anymore, unfortunately - they stopped international shipping from the Maker's Shirts site a few weeks ago.

I don't understand this mentality. It's not like I don't already have a Japanese freight forwarding account. The material difference in blocking international sales is an international shipping address becomes a domestic shipping address.

Which freight forwarder do you use (and who translates the Japanese for you!?).

Jshoppers - they came recommended through Rakuten - and my lovely mistress, Google.

If you have your browser prefill for you, the ecommerce sections are standardised across english and japanese websites (I believe it is relatively global industry standard), so that takes out some of the guesswork - otherwise, throw the terms into Google Translate.

I did a bit of an explanation over in the Kamakura thread a while back on how to order using the Japanese site:

Of course, it's a bit out of date now that they don't ship overseas, but I hope that it still provides some assistance to anyone wishing to order from the Japanese Maker's Shirt site.

Hey guys,

Carmina Inca last burgundy calf semi-brogue for grabs, size 9UK. Mine have been worn 4 or 5 times so uppers are like new and soles have the slightest of wear. They are not needed in my wardrobe. Comes with original box, spare laces, Carmina shoe bags, etc.

The Finery Company in Sydney does bespoke female clothes. Have had shirts, pants, jacket and a polo coat made for my partner. Just as good as their men's offering
