Thanks foxy, I think.

Anyway my point I think was that even people who say formal don't know what they mean. At least you have an indication you can comfortably wear a suit to the wedding. And a suit means a tie. A wedding is a joyous celebration of love. Or something. Anyway it's not a funeral or a business meeting so a white shirt, sombre tie and sombre shoes isn't needed. Actually some upper middle class weddings are more like business contracts but we'll ignore that here. So a nice dressy non white shirt, say pale blue, pink or ecru, spread collar and a bright happy tie. No, no, no. Not a fun tie like PoP. But a more showy tie.

Good occasion to wear cufflinks and double cuffs. Pocket hankie. Easy.

I agree with my multi. Weddings are probably the best excuse most of you will have to wear a flashy tie. Like one of these...

Cheers Rob. Same story here, new wool/linen suit that will be worn more as separates.

New territory for me. Will give it a crack when the weather warms up.

Thought id give it a whirl today .. beige linen jacket, wool/linen trousers, bengal stripe handmade shirt, kilim slippers

I bought some Carmina shell cordovan boots from Unipair a while back, and the service was top-notch. Great communication, speedy delivery, the boots were very, very well packed, and the package included a small gift (a notebook).

Their normal prices are a bit higher than other Carmina vendors (and if Sth Korea is anything like Japan, that's probably because of import duties on shoes), but when they have a sale, their prices are very competitive and the service is second-to-none.

Sale on a few Carmina pairs by Unipair Guy mentioned on Carmina thread here: http://www.styleforum.net/t/241469/...-sizing-photos-and-more/9600_100#post_7436846

I don't know much about Carminas but $280 + 50 shipped to AUS (after a quick PM) seems reasonable but not that huge a selection. You guys would know better. I've also heard unipair mentioned on this thread so it must be a reliable vendor.

If you know your size and last in Carmina and you find what they have up for sale attractive - I can't see the harm.

Also gents, I've scored a new gig, so expect to see more suit selfies like these, minus the dirty mirrors, hangovers, and maybe even some nice posing.

Thanks for tips on wedding attire :)

I have a plain blue poplin shirt with French cuffs and spread collar, maybe that should be the go?: http://tiny.cc/a2vsnx

I have a white pocket square, should I do a puff fold or flat fold ?

I also have a dressy silver silk tie, but I'm thinking this isn't going to go well with a blue shirt and navy suit,? Unless I wear a white shirt instead.

Next question is shoes, I have a pair of black wholecut oxfords or black captoe oxfords..or brown boots, what do you all think?

Sorry for the noob questions..this is complicated not knowing what to wear..!

@lachyzee has been asking me about the cellulare (and a few others too) so I got around to taking a photo this morning. It's a great fabric.

Worn with brown linen/silk Caruso coat, mid wash denim and brown suede chukkas.
Looks great, def need a brown jacket but Q: what collar did you go with on that shirt?

Looks good HC.
That second button undone always makes me nervous!

I love all those old names for fabric etc like "cellulare" or "fresco"
