MJ Bale's Autumn/Winter catalogue has been released. Some interesting stuff, but overall a lot of repeats.

Pretty much last chance for anyone that wants to help Wear for Success in their fantastic charity work by coming along to #DressedtoKill, ticket sales shut down tomorrow.

If you need more incentive than food, drink, Bond, helping those less fortunate and an excuse to dress up we'll also have some Bond-esque door prizes.

Henry Carter have kindly donated a couple of very Bond ties.

Beggar Man Thief are supplying a lovely pair of Grensons.

Very limited capacity to change our booked numbers now, so you'll have to get in fast if you are coming.

Thanks for the heads up, I concur though all been seen before. In the days before Luxire I would have been pretty wrapped to see the Navy peacoat in there. Always struggled to find a descent one in Aus, then again that's making the assumption that it is descent.

MJ Bale's suit range has become increasingly boring. There's not a lot once you already have the english navy and mid-grey, especially in their 'classic' range.

Hi Diplomat,

As far as I'm aware the best alterations tailor in Canberra is TT's Fashions, upstairs in Baileys Arcade on London Circuit. Never had sleeve buttons adjusted but for basic work on trousers and jackets I've never had a problem.

I go see Tuan at TT too, have done for about 15 years and know him very well, but sleeve buttons is probably a bit outside his comfort zone unless you just want them sewn on with no fake stitching etc. A&V tailors in Garema place are good but pricey too, they did all of Herringbone's alterations when I was there. Just don't let them talk you in to getting hand stitched working button holes, they wanted to charge my brother $300 to do it.

Thanks for your replies.

I have been having most alterations done at TT's as well. Tuan is great and always very friendly, but as you point out, he doesn't do some of the more advanced things.

I'll have a look at the other places you mentioned. I am happy with machine-made buttonholes.

Well I never really saw you of all people in the dove grey pink windowpane number from last season anyway...

PS stopped by the MJB popup store in Martin Pl. For those thinking about it, don't bother.
