started to darken my shoes

I have no idea what im doing lol

I just got a pair of Herring Richmonds and they're a bit too big for my feet. I'm not gonna return them because it'll cost an arm and a leg so I plan to get some insoles for them, seeing as it's 0.5 size of a difference. Does anyone want to recommend any insoles they're using?

any brands or recommendations of what polish to get?
pediwear gave me some wax polish with the shoe to protect but not so much darken.
actually now that i think of it i have some of that kiwi shoe polish you get from safeway somewhere in the garage. Or does no one on SF use this stuff because its cheap? lol

I use the kiwi shoe polish. The "parade gloss" type has silicon in it so stick with just the "shoe polish".

A lot cheaper than the fashiony shoes by Sanders and AS from AFPoS I must say.

Looks good. You can have a lot of fun with shoes. And clothes. It's not all rules and correct line ideology.

Tell us what you did. Did you just whack something over the colour or did you strip it first?

Why did you go for deep wine instead of dark brown?

i used that kiwi polish i had in the garage. the colour was dark tan so i guess thats why its the redish colour (i wanted more of of a dark brown)

i wore them out to dinner tonight and when i took them i off i noticed the the colour is cracking in the areas where it is seeing stress (ie bending areas)

i did about 2 layers straight over the top but now that i think of it i should of cleaned the existing protection that was on the shoe originally when i first bought them. Anyone know how i can clean the polish off and start over?

will rubbing alcohol strips work?
