Aussie SFs, I want to gauge if there is interest in a Prologue trunk show, probably in Sydney.

We’re in the early stages, so still trying to sort out pricing, timing etc. Just putting out feelers at this stage.

See https://prologuehk.com/ for styling, details etc.

Who is interested? Feel free to PM if easier.

If there’s enough interest in Melbourne for them to make another stop, I’m in.

Anyone been to the factories/shops in Northampton?

I'm heading over there later this year, wondering if it's worth a look.

yer a while ago. most were average.
lobb have a factory sale twice a year and they get smashed with professional flippers.
i went on the second week and got something i was pretty happy with for around 200 gbp.
youre probably better off just going to the sales on jermyn st if you time it right.

Melbourne sartorialists,

I'm upgrading from Aquila tier shoes (they have a nice range, but the shoes I want don't have the colours & construction I need/want).

Currently looking for oxblood tassel loafers and/or monkstraps, but am looking for places to go to for future shoe purchases. Where do I go besides McCloud's for them?

Coincidentally, just polishing my JL monks.
I guess, ultimately, budget is the question you need to answer - what are you comfortable spending?
McClouds offer good standard fair, next tier is Double Monk.

Somebody's bound to mention Double Monk in Smith St, and I'm pretty sure that Andre's at the top of Collins Bourke St still stocks C&Js. I don't know about oxblood tassel loafers though; they might be hard to find.

Churches do a nice affordable oxblood tassel, not sure of price. Alden, also, for much the same price as a C&J - $900 neighbourhood.

Alternative to McLeods in Melbourne is Double Monk. Oscar Hunt also sell shoes, but I don't know about the quality. Henry Bucks sell a relatively small range at pretty stupid prices but can be got on sale for slightly better.

In addition to those mentioned above, American Tailors on Bourke St stocks C&J. They tend to get a mention every year here, with competitive pricing, for their EOFY sales.

You guys are legends! :') I don't really mind what the price is. As long as they last with good care, and can be resoled, cost per wear will eventually work itself out.

Cost per wear doesn’t work itself out, trust me. Before long you’ll prioritise wardrobe space to shoes you’ll wear twice!

If you’re not bothered by price and want monk straps, I’d suggest LOBB. As for tassel, probably Alden; dependant on fit.

If you are after Lobbs, go visit harrolds at the crown, I picked up a pair for about 600pls after discount. However it’s limited stock and sizes but worth a try.
