Any One for a Scotch?

Hi guys, I've been lurking here for months and have picked up some great recommendations. I really appreciate the knowledge that gets dropped here. That said, I've been struggling trying to locate some items and I was hoping for some help or pointers as where to look or suggestions of how to acquire some of these bottles.

I live in suburban NE Philadelphia. I've had decent luck finding most standard items in my nearby LCBO. To get a few bottles I have gone over the river to NJ and found them there. I really like smoke/peat and would like to try some smokey cask strength stuff BUT I can't find any in local stores. Here's what I am looking to locate.

Lagavulin Cask Strength
Laphroaig Cask Strength
Ardbeg Uigeadail
also looking to try Laga DE

Here's what I've enjoyed and try to keep a couple bottles around the house

Lagavulin 16
Laphroaig 18
Laphroaig Triple Wood
Ardbeg 10
Caol Ila
Aberlour A'Bunadh
Balvenie Doublewood

Any local guys know where to look for a wider selection? I guess even if I could buy and have it shipped would be terrific. Seems like everything google brings up is from overseas. Any advice would be tremendously appreciated. TIA

I've had good luck with shipping from overseas. Especially from the whisky exchange. Their site even converts to US$. Sure, it takes a little bit more cash to have things shipped but they pay the duties and everything for you. I usually get things in about a week. Just another option. Ymmv

What do you guys think of recent bottles of A'bunadh? I haven't been blown away by it.

Maybe I'm miss remembering but I thought it was better in older batches.

Yeah, there have been better bottles out there but it is still basically my daily/go to because of price and quality. Considering price has shot up and quality has gone down says a lot about what it used to be. But I still think you cannot get better sherried for the price. (and its cask strength)

Its still good, I just think it lacks that depth that it used to have. Its a little less smooth and a little less sherry. But overall still great in my book.

Did a little comparison tasting on Christmas Eve, along with finishing off that HP Signatory. The CS Edradour was my clear favorite, followed closely by the HP and then the Mac 18.

Ive only has Edradour once and it wasnt cask strength. I do recall it as being light/fruity, ok in my book.

Opened this Glenfarclas 1980 Christmas edition for Christmas Was pleasantly surprised by its dryness (when normally I expect sweetness) and leather aromas imposed by the sherry cask Very good to clear one's tongue after all the food eaten during Xmas. OMG I can't even button my jacket

I have an opportunity to pick up some Balvenie Tuns soon. I'm definitely grabbing 3 and 9 (which I heard are very good) and have a choice between 5 and 8. Any suggestions from guys who have tried it? Also, 6 is supposed to be the magical one yes?

Spent the weekend at my in-laws' place, along with my wife's sister and her husband. Brother-in-law is just starting to develop his palate for the amber tipples and for Christmas on Saturday got a book on whisky from my wife's parents; his birthday is today, so on Sunday I gave him a bottle of Auchentoshan Three Wood. He was loving life.

It's nice to take a step back from the rare and/or expensive to simply watch a friend discover what he likes.

Tried. I'm not the most knowledgeable guy here but for my $120 I think this is a superb whisky, loaded with complexity and flavors. The sherry you expect but vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, orange, kind of want to say cashew too. NAS but not bothered by that.

I'm drinking a third-shelf bottle that I really dig... Laphroaig 10 Year. Good stuff, and reasonably cheap.
