Anyone knows how AnnD boots fit? I really like this model but I'm not sure about the sizing. I tend to wear 40 in most brands but I had to go to 39 for SLP boots. Would these be TTS?

I'm not familiar at all with SLP sizing but I have a lot of ann footwear. This is what I can say. Take your pick athletic running shoe brand, and I wear a 10.5 . For AnnD, if it is a sneaker, I am right between 42 and 43(42 a bit snug 43 a bit lose). For boots, I will go for the 42 and it always is a better fit.

TLDR: Size down about a half size to a size in my opinion.

Also those boots are awesome.

Thanks for the info! I wear 8.5 in athletic brands so it looks like 40 would be the right size judging by your data.

i also recommend sizing down half to a full size. i'm a 41 in most dress shoes and 40 is my ann dem boot size. good thing about ann dem boots is that you can get away with going true to size as well. the airy insoles they use helps fill in the space. i owned a pair in 41 once, and although they were slightly big, they were still very comfortable to wear.

I ended up getting the boots on sale, they're pretty nice. Don't really see myself rocking them with anything other than black pants at the moment because there's some sort of coating on them and it can definitely rub onto your pants otherwise.

I'm used to very slim profile boots so they feel pretty chunky. It'll take some getting used to, but I also got a pair of non-skinny AnnD trousers to go with them. (trousers not pictured, obviously)

^how did our sizing recommendation go? on point?

the toe box does look more chunkier than the ann dem boots i've owned. they look more like rick owen boots. one of those things you either hate or love.

Sizing is in between I'd say. The 39 would've been a tad too tight and the 40 fits like half a size large. Wearing thicker socks does the trick.

The toe box is vertically roomier than anything I've owned before. It's pretty comfy in that regard.

The AnnD house definitely has a "devil may care" attitude in it's styling, and while some seasons (ss16 comes to mind) have some lean looks to them, SS17 was definitely a an "oldschool Ann" kind of show with lots of baggy pants, weathered footwear, and general nonchalance.

this is like complaining gucci is too slim
Mentioning Gucci in Ann D thread should be grounds for permaban. (0)

Funny, I remember reading this post at the time (2009) and thinking, Yes, totally agree.

Now, one of my favourite spring/summer casual outfits this season has been black Gucci horsebit loafers with black Ann D rayon-silk pants and shirt. Goes fantastic together.

It took me a few years, but I guess I've learned that, just like in music, there is no purity of taste in fashion either...

Now we just need more frequent fit pics in this thread. I've really warmed up to the more drapy/flowy romantic goth style of AnnD :)

I decided to revive this thread, if only to say that the best deal on Ann Demeulemeester low top sneakers right now is most definitely here:
https://www.mohawkgeneralstore.com/...amosciato-ingrassato-low-top-sneaker-in-latte at $272, with an extra 20% off with code TWENTYOFF It's really hard to beat $218 for those. Pretty much impossible, actually. I already have a pair, and they don't have my exact size (44), but the size run is actually pretty good.

@LA Guy How did you size, relative to GATs or CPs, for example?

I wear a size 44 in GATS, and those fit well, but snug. I could probably go up to a size 44.5. I wear a size 43 in CPs and pretty much all sneakers on that sole. In these Ann D senakers, I wear (they are right beside me right now) a size 44. They fit nice and wide in the forefoot, which works for me - they are possible my post comfortable sneakers - but I know guys with narrower forefeet, who just tighten the laces.

Interesting. Your sizing is similar to mine in some ways, but a bit confusing at the same time. I wore GATs in 44, and they were a bit snug. But CPs in 43 always felt snug too, definitely too narrow. The perfect shoe in terms of fit (other than something like Nike free) has been the Alden Barrie last in 10E. Seems I’d likely be a 44 in these Ann D sneakers too.

Feet are very idiosyncratic and vary greatly between individuals. I have a slightly wide forefoot, but it's not particularly high volume, and normal heel size. I also have fallen arches. If someone has a higher volume foot, and larger heels, for example, the same shoes could feel a lot more snug even though nominally, we'd be the same size.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
