I must be a Terrible American then as I only own one pair or Alden's and not a single pair of AE. The Alden's are cordovan Indys that I purchased as casual boots for walking the dogs and bar hopping. I guess I don't have the same amount of respect for our shoe industry. However, I shouldn't knock it till I try it and I figured that if I could pick up 2 pairs for $400 I would try it.

I am totally in the market for a couple pair of AE's but I have never been fit? I can not order on line as I have no idea what size to order? Any way to order and pay but send them my size next week when I can get sized up ? Probably not so I might not be able to get in on this deal.

Use your best guess and order on-line. Do not wear them outside, though. Then, go get sized and, if need be, exchange them for a different size at the AE store.

Make sure the item is shipped by Amazon. My 20% off applied just fine.

Unfortunately some sizes and styles aren't available by Amazon. Also I couldn't get the McTavish shoes to accept the promotion for some reason but it worked when I tried McAllister. Not sure what's up with that but I ended up getting a pair of McAllister w/ promo + a few cash back points for $216 shipped.

No, but they may have defects that would necessitate their return, the same as when buying firsts from Nordstrom or AE. Unless Amazon is killing AE in price, you're always better off buying from AE or Nordstrom due to the ease in making exchanges when this occurs. With Amazon, you can return, but you have no guarantee that sale price is still effective or that they have additional shoes in your size.
