Anyone have an idea on how the Strawfut fits? It's on the 65 last, but I've got both the Strand and the Black Hill on that last. The Black Hill is a great fit at 12 D and the Strand is just a touch big on the 12 D.

On the lookout for a summer-style shoe and saw a pair of Strawfuts online that looked mildly intriguing and thought I might take a shot. The return policy is me paying shipping and a 10% return fee, so I'd rather have a good idea on fit moving forward, if possible.

I owned the strawfut and would suggest your standard 65 last sizing.....they will probably fit similar to the strand...if they have them in a C width that would work also assuming your foot does not over spill the footbed.

My 65 bal size is a 12eee and the 13D or E...I forget was huge on me...made me look like I was a clown going to the circus...

Love my MacNeils, but my tastes have changed quite a bit, and I'm kinda wishing I had just gone with the black welt and edges now. Ah well, I can always do it in 8 years when these need a recraft....

Ha. Thanks, but I think these would get more wear if they weren't quite so ultra casual. I would feel more comfortable wearing them with other types of pants than jeans.

But, they're still a cool casual shoe. Very comfortable as well.

Just had to share that I'm loving my Holts. Was worried about the last (2) being narrow but was needless. Very comfortable and feel they are the most stylish AE's I own.

Great looking shoes! The broguing and strap really seem to fit that color. Don't see them on the website though. Discontinued model?

Just for fun, I picked up a pair of oxblood Dalton seconds. It's a breathtaking color. Below is a comparison shot:

On the right is a merlot calf Park Avenue; on the left, an MTO Leeds in russet Dublin. The russet is very close to oxblood, although the leather is of course different and the russet isn't burnished. MTOs in the russet are unfortunately no longer available, but it's the same leather as is used in the AE-made Wolverine Krause boot.

Awesome pickup, halfnhalfnhalf, I love my oxblood Daltons and am constantly complimented on the color.

My walnut shells do not get that same shine, what are you using/doing?
Thanks

Nothing special, really. They see a lot of wear, and a lot of Mac Method damp-wiping with a microfiber and endless brushing. I have used VSC on them twice in the 8 months I've had them, but always sparingly. These shoes still bloom, so there seems to be a good amount of natural ***** saturation to them, and it does not take much to get them shined up.

To be fair, the bounce flash I used for the photos also makes them pop pretty well, and a slight bit of unsharp masking in post-processing is also glamming things up a bit.

Shaker Heights for me today, and 100% agreed that these seconds were hands-down the best $127 I've ever spent on footwear. :slayer:
