Just picked up a pair of Indy boots and I'm second guessing my size choice a little. I'm usually somewhere between 8.5 and 9, bought an 8.5E boot. I can't decide if it feels a little big and clunky or if it's just new and stiff. They didn't have a pair in 8E that I could try on but the salesman said he thought an 8 would be too small. So, somebody with a perfect fitting Indy boot--where does your big toe end in relation to the toe stitching? Mine hits right at the inner edge of the stitching--does that sound right? Or should I hunt down an 8 to be sure? Were your boots a little awkward at first?

I'm a US 12D. I found my first pair to be big, clunky and a bit wide...did I mention the last shape is unexciting

I later purchased a 12C and found my feet don't move around as much.

I sized down 1/2 size for my 405s (8.5D to 8D), but YMMV.

I wear a 7.5 - sometimes a 7

Got the Indy in a 7.5 and ultimately gave it to my uncle b/c it was absolutely huge on my foot

He is a 8.5 to 9 and it fit him like a glove

IF I ever pull the trigger again, I will size down AT LEAST one full size

It depends on the last. I have the Vintage Indy's on the Trubalance and I sized down 1/2 size and they fit fine. According to Tom at Leather Soul Hawaii, you should size down 1/2 size in both the Trubalance and Barrie. My feet are narrow and I measure 12A on the Brannock device and the A width is correct for me on the Trubalance. But as stated above, YMMV.

Hello

I am interested in a pair of Alden Indy boots (ORIGINAL INDY WORK BOOT according to Need Supply) in Trubalance last. I wonder if any member could give me a tip on sizing.

I use Church's (173 last), Loake (Capital last) and Sargent (87) in 10.5 UK F width and Converse Chuck Taylor in 11 and also Allen Edmonds Park Avenue in 11 D (a tad snugger that I would like a wider last would be perfect).

I wonder if I should go with the 10.5 US. Thanks on advance

Try going 1/2 size down and one size up in width. Works for me for Truebalance last with non-Cordovan leather. Also remember that this is a boot--having a bit more room is good if you want to wear it on a thicker sock.

A couple of weeks ago arrived my Indy boots in Trubalance last, I was hesitant to pull the trigger since I live in Peru and returning them due to sizing issues will be really expensive. After checking and double checking with Needsupply they arrived safe and healthy and fit perfectly. For your reference my Indy boots are 10.5 US in Trubalance last. I use:

- Converse Chuck Taylor :11 US
- Allen Edmonds Park Ave : 65 last / 11 US D fit
- Church's : 10.5 UK / 173 last F fit
- Cheaney : 10.5 UK / 125 last F fit
- Loake : 10.5 UK / Capital and 126 lasts F fit

There are a couple of pictures without laces, I used some dubbin before wearing them, that is my standard method to wellcome shoes, even the formal ones.
