there's a medical center here in Dallas that's named after a guy named Robert H Dedman. it used to be called the Dedman Memorial Medical center. It has since been shortened to the far less hilarious RHD med center.

I live in the country, and names in my area are fairly standard. Irish names are commonplace, and then you have the the good old Mikes, Joes, Johns, etc.

Then some people went and named their child Abcde. The first 5 letters of the alphabet.

Abcde.

Pronunciation: Ab-sid-dee.

Locally, we have a family with the last name Imhoff. Guy was named Jack-Jack Imhoff.

I went to Walmart today and the cashier's nametag said "Serra." I thought "Oh like the artist. Actually, probably not. Probably like Sarah, but....spelled wrong."
