I shipped mine on the 5th and as of yesterday still has only gone 30 miles to Harrisburg. The last scan changes every day to the current date, replacing all previous scans. It's the weirdest thing I've seen. They must be scanned into some holding system.

My package arrived in the US 9 days ago and since then, silence. But you guys saying that I should not worry since the US national mail service is slow as heck?

I've got several eBay shipments that showed no movement through the USPS tracking system but were delivered to the buyers before the system updated. The deliveries were several days late but did arrive where they were supposed to. That said, I have one eBay item I shipped to Maryland the beginning last last week but USPS tracking is showing it is in Pensacola, FL...WTF?

Sounds like USPS is even worse than the Swedish national post service PostNord.

Re: tracking updates. My next door neighbor ordered some coffee beans from a local roastery. The latest tracking update shows the package in Las Vegas.

At the other extreme, I ordered some stuff from a local company (who has a PO Box in the same Post Office as I do), and got a message asking if they could just drop the stuff off on my porch.

@capnwes: I am bowled over by your thoughtfulness on display in your gift selection and the short stories that accompanied each meticulously wrapped package.

So I got a 22-pound box in the mail today:

Filled with amazing gifts related to Atlanta, my time in the thrift thread and my interests. This package contained a set of coasters:

I opened a gift "thrifted by a 10-year-old Capnwes" to find a quintessential Atlanta artifact from 1976:

I also uncovered a cashmere blazer "to keep you warm and looking sharp for basement Zoom meetings," a Discwasher system and, oh yeah, a RECORD PLAYER.

Every gift was a joy to open. Thank you.

@ATLjon Glad you enjoyed it. It was especially tough this year since I couldn’t leave the house to find any gifts. Got stuck with only shipping supplies for wrapping paper, but it worked out ok.

Careful with those cartridges, I wasn’t sure either one was any good, I’d suggest spinning something you don’t care about first.

I got the same coasters from Wes 4-5 years ago I think and they’re still getting daily use.

So close, yet so far. F***ers never left a card or anything! Fingers crossed they try again tomorrow.

Record player is all set up and sounds great! Thanks again.

Thrift fit in progress. This is the "basement setup." Hopefully I'll be replacing the college speakers soon. But everything else is thrifted.
