Just got these an hour ago. I sized up from what I normally wear in washed jeans- from 30" to 31"- although I broke out a tape measure which told me I have a 33" waist. Anyway, I thank you guys for your input. The fit is just about perfect, IMO, although it could even be a smidgen tighter in the waist to account for stretching. I like the softness/stiffness of the denim, but won't be able to appreciate the color until I get out into natural light, I suppose.

This is my second pair of raw, after the 101z (both from Denimbar). My other two considerations for purchase were the SDA-103 and Flathead 3001, but the rises on those are both higher and the size 30 SDAs are out of stock on BIG. I think I made the right choice and saved a few bucks, but the chainstitching would have been nice.

Not sure what you are talking about, but the 5EPxSF have a chainstitched hem, and of course, chainstitching in areas like the crotch and yoke. Denim Bar has a chainstitching service too, I think.

Geez, DenimBar is so freakin' awesome. I ordered over the phone late yesterday afternoon. Dave said "no prob, they'll ship in the morning"
I come home today and boom - there they are waiting for me!

These were TIGHT around the waist - I had to struggle to get the top button closed but after a couple of hours now they are starting to feel pretty good. I'm glad I didn't size up!

Maybe, but I don't like the fit that Saucemaster had, if that was how they were meant to fit. The way Rye has 'em is looks poi-fect.

PS. Nice avy Rye, I think I have/had that issue.

Ryes look good because he's slouching them a little and thats the only way they seem to work.I'm pretty sure thats how they were meant to be worn. If you think about it these were Foks idea iirc and he wears his jeans slouchy. Just a thought.

These jeans have stretched alot. Fok suggested the 32" and they were extremely tight first wear. I don't think I would have been able to close the top button on the 31".
My only slight regret is they now fit a little loose, I wanted a slighly leaner fit to see how well the fabric aged and whiskered. Now that the cut is not so body concious I don't think I'll get the desired wear patterns I was trying to create.

The positive outcome is the color loss is intense, no fixative on the fabric to hold color perhaps?, it should be interesting to see how everyones jeans look come Spring.

These are a 33x34, my waist is ~31.5. Looking at the pictures I think I'll start wearing these lower as they stretch, but I don't think they look bad as high as i'm wearing them here. Superlative denim and i'm happy with the fit, which I prefer to be a bit loose.
