Thank you. I'm using 210 as my goal, as I want to make sure I hit it, but once there I'm going to think about 205. As always the real trick with weight loss is maintaining it. When I first dropped major pounds I was down to 205...for about two weeks. I've been stable at 215'ish for two years now so wondering if I can adjust my body down another 10# on a permanent basis.

Hopefully we move beyond raving about 1080p.

1) Stop spending too much money on wine.
2) Play more poker (have been winning when I have been playing).

good luck man.
I lost roughly 45lb last year. I gain about 10lb. :embar: I'm aiming to lose another 15lb to reach my initial goal.

Goals for 2012:

1. Become a better listener to my family
2. Lose at least 10 lbs.
3. Get less worked up over life's irritations (I'm better than I was at this time last year, but I was to move more in this direction)
4. Finish and market my children's novel
5. Finish and submit at least six more short stories to publishers
6. Get another gaming book published
7. Get rid of all the clothes that I've been hanging on to, but I know (deep down inside) that I'll never wear

Mine:

Gain weight.
Drink more.
Take up smoking.

It will be difficult but I think I can do it.

But seriously, I have only one resolution that I'm making a concentrated effort towards: decreasing my philandering and attempting serious relationships. Frankly, most women annoy the **** outta me, so it won't be easy.

The usual. New boss, another marathon or three, more savings, read more books, spend more time with the fam, visit the friends more, and buy/keep fewer things.

Okay: one marathon down, looking for the next one. One interview down, looking for the next one. Getting close to finishing a book, probably by this weekend. So many other books waiting to be read, though.

Hopefully we move beyond raving about 1080p.

And then maybe lcd panel manufacturers will go back to making various shapes/sizes/resolutions to optimally fit specific applications rather than trying to force a 1080p 16:9 display into every damn display

Stop eating a copious amount of junk food if I get drunk. I am all about the gluttony if I get sauced then the next week I am regretting it.

looks like we all have similar resolutions. i'm not big on new year's resolutions, but there are some reasons why i really need to set goals and a timeline for achieving them.

had my physical late last year and did not like what i heard AT ALL. in 2011, for the first time in my life, i did not exercise at all and my eating habits deteriorated. therefore:

  • lose 20 lbs (already lost 8 since Jan 1)
  • work out at least 3-4 times a week. no exceptions
  • my body is my temple. cut out red meat and alcohol for at least the next 3 months, and only sparingly after that. i had a nutritionist draw me up a plan and i'm sticking with it

financially

  • stop being so risk averse and passing on great investing opportunities. swing for the fences with amounts that it wouldn't kill me to completely lose.
  • turn my hobby money into investing money. i have enough suits, pants, shoes, outerwear, etc (blasphemy!)

personally

  • just stop caring about the bullshit at work that stresses me out. i'm going to do my work and make the decisions i'm paid to make. i have a job where i tend to get second guessed a lot so i am going to just start telling people to **** off
  • ******** at least 5 times a week :D

I've tried to read The Magic Mountain probably five times. I get about half way through and drop it.
