Hmm— well, I have not seen any RTW from them. Perhaps some aspiring apprentice filched a few labels and put them in her homework?

Lol. Hard to explain - wanted to love these based on the backstory and hype, but my own first-hand experience has to trump all that when I decide buy-or-not! I should say that I have never experienced their MTM (and won't at this point). There could be a big difference. I don't know. Certainly I'd expect the fit issues to be resolved, but the rest? For a RTW shirt that costs $450USD regular price and even $225USD on sale, the quality was not even close to good enough. When shrewd shopping can get me a Borrelli or Piccolo shirt for $75-90USD...easy choice.

A differing view...

Local store had 100Hands Gold Line shirts on sale for over 50% off. I went in and tried on 2 of them. Sorry, not for me at all. And the price is just silly for what these are. At the same store I bought 3 Borrelli Napoli shirts for the "on sale" price of 1 of these 100Hands GL shirts...and in my view the Borrellis were better shirts without factoring in price.

The fit on each 100Hands shirt was comically bad. I take an 18.5 (46) collar. But I don't weigh 500 pounds. The 100Hands shirt was made for a 500lb guy. I looked like I was wearing a sail from a schooner. Meanwhile my RTW 18.5 shirts from Borrelli and from Salvatore Piccolo fit splendidly and are made for a normal human-sized man. (BTW, the Piccolo shirts are even better than the Borrellis - and qualitywise are head-and-shoulders above what I tried from 100Hands.)

Also, the reputation for fine finishing on 100Hands did not hold up at all for the shirts I saw. Many loose threads, wildly uneven hand-rolled bottom hem, and even "runs" in the fabric of the shirts (like you would see in cheap nylons...but in the shirt material). Awful.

I'm so glad I went and tried these on, because now I can safely forget about them and stick to the superb shirts I have been getting from Napoli shops (and save many, many hundreds of dollars in the process!)
Strange. Has not been my experience at all with the gold line RTW shirts from Cavour.

nor mine. In fact I found 100Hands sold at Cavour to be rather slim fit, perhaps too slim for me even.
I do wonder if the retailers design their own unique cuts rather than 100Hands having a universal size.

I have always bought custom 100 Hands, especially their Gold Line. I am glad to have found this post. It explains a few things that have been puzzling me recently, but it does provide the possibility of some answers. I am only speculating but it could be down the line of one of the other poster's thinking, mentioned up above. If so, I know that situation has been remedied. But once again I don't know for certain if it was the case. I am sure Akshat will take note of your comment and address it with the retailer.
Definitely I believe the retailers are involved to varying degrees with the measurements with assistance or suggestions from 100 Hands. But I agree that this is a common issue with RTW. They believe that bigger necks or chests means that all the other parameters are proportionately bigger which is often not the case. This I find especially true with increasing chest sizes. I gave up on ready made garments a long time ago for this sole reason.

Another Cavour customer here - have bought a few gold line 100 hands shirts.

I rate them very highly - I don't have direct experience of Borelli, but numerous Barba gold line, PS/Luca Avitabile/Cavour Sartoria. The 100 hands shirts are certainly better made in terms of cut and hand finishing/stitching.

I have no idea what was going on in Canada, but it's not been my experience at all. Sorry to that poster.

There are numerous reviews online (sponsored, and importantly, not) over the last, say, 7 years that could serve to reassure anyone on the fence...

My only concern with 100 hands shirts is that sleeves aren't hand gathered all proud into small pleats. They have the standard two pleats and it's very uncomfortable for me personally

They certainly do gathered pleats in their custom shirts, if that helps.

There's not much they cannot do bespoke-- their needle workers are insanely talented and thorough. The main question is what you can all agree on, which is a communications issue.

Harry Rosen in Canada has a bunch of Gold Line shirts at 40% off for several months now...even stacking discounts in past months so that they were 55% off. Still not sold out.

In my experience (as a customer and professionally), 100 Hands is about the greatest shirtmaker there is.
Extremely precise.
Pricey, sure, but also better than everyone else.
Varvara is a really nice person, which adds to the total value of the brand.

The fit we (Cavour) buy is their own Eurpean Slim Fit, and is the slimmest in our selection of shirts. They have different fits for different markets, and the retailer can also customize however they see fit.

just idiotic pricing

600 dollar for a shirt is just way overblown price wise

Not to defend Harry Rosen but those are CAD prices, right? They’re still a little bit more than other retailers but +/- 5-10%.
