Bruneian sartorial scene: Does it exist?

I wonder if there are any Bruneian members here.

I can't find it. Where is it?

Majesty: A new "quality" from Acorn

Acorn really, really doesn't understand how to do satin stripes. What's so difficult about wholesale copying of Alumo's satin stripes (vastly more tasteful). http://www.acornfabrics.com/majesty_info.html

How to pull off Italian rolled up jacket cuffs?

Pics of rolled up cuffs on linen jackets would be much appreciated. Does one roll up the shirt cuffs as well as part of the look?

    Critique my bespoke navy DB

Buttons will be swappable. Jacket roomy enough to fit over a sweater. This is the first basted fitting. Please ignore the trousers, they were cut with a fishtail back for braces, but in the pics they are supported from my hips sans braces.

A question about a feature on vintage bespoke trousers

Can someone tell me what this black crescent-shaped patch is? It is on the front leg of the bottom hem. The back of the leg has the usual partial hem reinforcement to withstand abrasion with the shoe.

Where should the bottom hem of short pants be?

Help me pick some shirting fabrics

I'm looking to buy 3 Acorn shirting lengths. However, the online pics of their books, while clear and literal, do not capture the true appearance of their cloths as made-up shirts. I also need some ideas as to what patterns have become your favorites over time. So, please do pick for me 3...

Which Acorn fabric is like the Alumo Soyella Zephyr?

I am in deep awe with this Alumo Soyella Zephyr 170x2 in alternating red/blue stripes from forum member AY. I know this is a long shot, but which Acorn fabric comes closest to the pattern (not fabric quality)?

Can I wash a structured linen jacket in water?

I have a half-lined fully-structured linen beige jacket lined with Bemberg. Can I wash this in the washing machine on the wash cycle, remove it before the rinse cycle, and hand rinse the thing in big buckets of water then allow to drip dry, then bring it to the tailor for pressing? Or must it...

Latest shoe technology: White suede-like insole

What is this white, rubbery, suede-like (leather?) insole in mid-tier English shoes? It looks and feels horrible. Even the Loake 1880 line uses it now, as does Alfred Sargent.

    The cutaway buttondown

I wonder why these are almost never sighted? My tailor made me this. The collar is unfused and is very thinly interlined.

    Window displays of menswear shops

Is there a blog somewhere that has fresh pictures of window displays? This one has lots, but unfortunately in very low resolution. http://www.whatmakesaman.net/wordpre...egory/clothes/ Maybe there are better ones out there.

    60% Bemberg/Cupro 40% viscose

My tailor showed me this morning a lining sample that was the sheerest I've ever seen, even more sheer than haboutai silk but looks strong. Definitely cooler than ermazine based on how much sheerer it is. It says "60% Bemberg/Cupro 40% viscose". Is there a specific name for this material? I...

    Designing my own patch pockets

I talked to my tailor, and he has little experience making patch pockets. So I thought I might try my hand at designing them for a light oatmeal linen jacket. Left pocket is the hip pocket. As you can see, it's somewhat hacking. Right pocket is the breast pocket. They have not yet been scaled...
