I've been looking all over for a tie bar like this, wide as this kind of 'mad men' tie, with some kind of medallion/stone in the middle. Do you guys know where to find anything like this or how/where i would look for it?

was considering selling this suit for a long time because i figured it was too big, but I wasn't able to get any buyers, and looking back on the pictures now, I have to wonder if the fit is really so bad, the proportions and drape seem about right, save for the shoulders being too wide in...

    Double Breasted Style.

Not sure if this has been posted but what kind of DB suit thread would this be if I didn't post one of the GOAT DB suits, that being this deliciously louche piece worn by Jack Nicholson in Batman (1989), courtesy of Tommy Nutter?

How does prince of kent tie his necktie?

He doesn't. He just wraps it in a vaguely knot-like manner and the tie just withholds itself from coming loose out of a mix of fear and respect.

The style of that lapel reminds me of one of the custom options I've seen on an AliExpress custom store I know of.

Buying menswear on AliExpress? You're kidding, right?

Ehh, theres a time and a place. I'm definitely not going back on my sensibilities where tailoring is concerned, though I might want to put more effort towards proving I could dress "normally" if I wanted to, that there is substance to the style. Sure, there's certainly topics and people who...

The suits and ties are fun, but this is more the kind of thing I usually wear when I go out to work. (I'm volunteering atm, just trying to get a good word in for a proper job) I think this outfit would be better with some corduroy pants/chinos instead of black jeans, which is good because I...

Buying menswear on AliExpress? You're kidding, right?

Also coming back to this thread, and looking through my profile to find it again, good grief I was a tasteless, insolent little twerp back when I made this thread in 2022. I'm actually embarrassed, I ought to be grateful that anyone had the patience to tolerate let alone indulge me with the way...

Buying menswear on AliExpress? You're kidding, right?

I just figured out another life-hack of this nature: Over on the "Mod to Suedehead" thread, @Inkss posted this pic: where he had put a metal eyelet into one of his shirts to make it into a pinhole collar shirt, which by any rate is probably easier than making a careful hole in the fabric and...

"Didn't like the collar so converted it to a collar-pin" How so? I've never seen it done like that, with the metal ring and all. I would have to assume it's easier than doing it with just a needle and thread.

Is it the plaid that puts it over the line? I don't own that suit anymore, that pic was just to show off the shirt and tie combo, which I want to pair with a more conservative solid brown or maybe pinstripe.

Thats fair. Honestly, that shirt works more without a tie than it does with one, the dark collar band makes it weird. I have a lot of more narrow semi-spear collar shirts, but the problem with them is they're all too baggy everywhere else, even for how loose most shirts are on me.

got myself some extra-skinny braces, between this and another one with a grey-black pattern Pretty nice combo here, reminds me of the 10th doctors outfit from the Doctor Who episode Silence in the Library. Also wore this shirt with a more 90s tie and my green tweed jacket, which looked pretty...
