MEGA PEACOAT THREAD - 61 threads merged - all Peacoat questions HERE

I'm very pleased with my BR peacoats. It's really one of a kind. Have one in black and one in navy blue. Needless to say, you probably don't want to wear the BR in disreputable neighbourhoods or in bad weather conditions. Does anyone know of a less luxury slim fit peacoat, short in length...

Identify WW2 RAF jacket in the 'Pearl Harbor' movie

I'm looking for a similiar jacket to the khaki/brown jacket Rafe (Ben Affleck) is wearing as he has a beer while writing a letter to Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale). What kind do you think it is? Wax? Any idea on how to replicate the look? Picture: https://ibb.co/1MdtjLp

MEGA PEACOAT THREAD - 61 threads merged - all Peacoat questions HERE

The salesman is right. It took one winter for me to really break it in and now it's considerably softer than when just out of the box. The 20% polyamide helps in bad weather. I wouldn't even think of buying an expensive cashmere coat. Not very versatile.

I finally have the traditional 80/20 version in navy color. The wool is dense, but I don't think the price tag is warranted. Paying 695$ is madness when you can get a brand new Schott, which you know is 100% quality, for half of that price. In my opinion you get more for less. BR's only edge is...

A very stylish peacoat from Calvin Klein recently caught my attention, but unfortunately there're some disappointing details. I suppose there's no possibility a tailor could neatly create a rear ****?

Ended up returning the Jack and Jones Vintage peacoat pictured in my previous post. Felt too rough and not quite the warmth I'd have liked. I've been looking for the J Crew's Bayswater which looked quite sharp back in the day and was also reasonably priced. I don't think I've ever seen the...

MEGA PEACOAT THREAD - 61 threads merged - all Peacoat questions HERE

I'm in a similiar situation. Pulled the trigger on a peacoat made by a lower end brand (though retailing at 190$, but I got it for 120$ on sale) because of the reasonably good fit and short length. Also wanted a true navy color, a sturdy collar and slash pockets. Unfortunately only 60% wool.

Need help in identifying this peacoat worn by Daniel Gillies (as Elijah Mikaelson) in the Originals, Season 1, Episode 9, first aired 3 december 2013.

I think I'm choosing between a GAP and a J Crew Bayswater. I'm a bit concerned about the Bayswater being too warm due to thinsulate and a higher wool content, possibly with thicker wool (after all, the quality of J Crew should be better). I'd like to be able to wear the peacoat when it's 40-50°F.

I'm in the same boat. Want a modern cut, preferably light to mediumweight. I sweat rather easily so I don't want it to be heavy and thick which most are. Thinking of having Luxire create on for me.

Luxire Custom Clothing - Official Affiliate Thread

@luxire I'm considering ordering a peacoat. I see there's an option to choose 14 oz navy 100% wool. I'd prefer a darker tint, a dark navy, so I'd rather use a 14 oz black 100% wool. Could this be arranged?

Luxire Custom Clothing - Official Affiliate Thread

Also hoping for a good BF offer. Could convince me to go with Luxire. Doesn't this partly depend on what is being shipped? For instance, you're less likely getting hit with lower valued shirts than an expensive overcoat. Is the value of the goods declared on the package (as opposed to just an...

Luxire Custom Clothing - Official Affiliate Thread

I didn't notice the vertical lines. What I did notice, though, was the marked horizontal line about three inches above the bottom. I imagine the wool has to be thicker in order for it not to stand out. I'm in doubt if I should go with Luxire. I have to say that this really put me off. For 500$...

MEGA PEACOAT THREAD - 61 threads merged - all Peacoat questions HERE

I'd consider 44" normal and perhaps somewhat less than most peacoats off the rack which often have extra space to accommodate sweaters and the like. I have a 40" chest and couldn't imagine sizing down from my current peacoat which actually is 44" in the chest. The fit is snug as it is. On the...

In the region of Scandinavia where I live we usually have pretty mild winters. Temperatures rarely go belong freezing point. Any idea where I can find a a light pecoat option? I'v been searching for quite some time, but it seems as if Billy Read is the only game in town. I guess it would be a...
