Are you the best dressed person at your job?

I had worked both in Finance and Law in the City of London( and still do -law), the most conservative environment imaginable. Dark grey ,or any grey is completely acceptable colour to wear. SO is navy, dark blue, charcoal and even POW pattern.

Why would you buy a NEW suit?

Mate, I'm 6'3 and finding anything second hand that does not look like I'm wearing a child suit is the same as winning the lottery. Plus I do not have time or patience to scour 2nd hand shops in London.

    Morning suit (MTM) houses London

I would go with Ede and Ravenscroft for a morning suit. They also offer a lot of options for taller gentlemen(I'm 6'3) and I for instance bought and RTW morning suit (coat, waistcoat and trousers) and the fit is fantastic. Plus they are one of the main purveyors of garments for Royal Ascott so...

    Anglo-Italian

Nope, they have nothing for taller men. 6'3 and they told me I would have to go MTM. Italian suits are basically made for shorter men.

    Suit or costume?

I have to put my 2 cents worth in here.I have been working in the legal sector and finance for almost 20 years. Your outfits look nice and relaxed, not to boxy and not in line with fashion trend, and that is a good thing. Wear what you like to wear, cultivate your style and learn and evolve it...

    Double Breasted Style.

I work in Legal and my office is pretty dressed down. I wear a suit ,tie..4 to 5 days a week and never get anything but compliments.

Pitti Uomo 105 - the pictures, the styles

Back in my day the only people with head/face tattoos were gang members and former convicts.

    How to stop overdressing

A grown man wearing gym shorts to work makes him unprofessional , slovenly and disrespectful or just a pure slob, a man child. Unless he works in a gym or is a personal trainer ,an athlete etc..Than I apologise . Otherwise my clown statement still stands .

    How to stop overdressing

SO you decided to completly ignore this part: You would look like a clown if you worn a full Football outfit, a full baseball kit or a F1 overall. That is where gym shorts belong , in the gym. Well done..

    How to stop overdressing

This is false comparison, but lets go down that road. Do you wear work boots ala Red Wings, get them off you don't work at a building site or as a lumberjack, do you wear a trench coat, off as you are not a WW1 officer, flannel shirt, off as you are not a lumberjack, tweed?, off you are not a...

    How to stop overdressing

I reserve my contempt and pity for every adult man who wears the same clothes as a toddler out of choice.

    How to stop overdressing

If your boss wears gym shorts to work, your boss, unless he works in a gym is a clown. End off, or a 12 year old.

    How to stop overdressing

Back in the day my father and my grandfather wore chore coats..to work outside or in their workshop with dirty tools, covered in grime, oil and sawdust. Who ever convinced men that a chore coat must cost hundreds of pounds and is something you can wear out to a restaurant or even to a park...

    How to stop overdressing

They are the problem not you! In the these days of complete casual wear and uniform drone wear under the guise of individualism, being well dresses is an act of anti-culture. Own it, or conform and loose all individuality.

    The Overcoat Thread

Which are the best Italian brands for tailored clothing?

For instance Attolini REG52 suit which is the 42 in the UK has the jacket length 0f 77cm. That is way to short for me as I normally wear at least 80-83cm long jackets . You would think 3 cm is not that much but I can tell you that on my long body it looks comical. The last time I was trying one...

Which are the best Italian brands for tailored clothing?

My problem with Italian makers is that they appear they make their clothes for short men. I'm 6 foot and nothing from the rack suits me as i look like I'm wearing children's clothes. I tired Antolini, Isia, Brunello ...all too short.
