    Things you just don't get

Murder-for-hire schemes. Does the hiring party actually expect the contract killer not to roll when they get caught by the police? If you want a heinous crime done right, do it yourself.

The End of the Sartorial Road

The main purpose of nice tailoring is not to wear. It is to model for your Styleforum e-buddies.

The End of the Sartorial Road

I actually am that old, although people who don't know my age have guessed anywhere from 28 to 35. Asian genes (and no kids) FTW. :slayer:

The End of the Sartorial Road

I have been at the end of the road for awhile, as the pandemic emphasized to me how much clothing I actually own. Plus, my kitchen isn't renovating itself. ;)

    The Official-ish DC Thread

I use Sky Valet, which is in City Center, a short walk from my office. At some point I need to try Aram and have a Sky brothers showdown. :box:

    The Official-ish DC Thread

Interesting. I'm sure that the owner has done his due diligence, but I'm not sure that the market for business dress/classic tailoring in DC is back to pre-pandemic levels or if it will ever return.

    Lets talk about COFFEE

Intriguing. Sounds too good to be true. Any thoughts from the coffee experts in this thread? https://fellowproducts.com/products/aiden-precision-coffee-maker

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

Edited the original post to emphasize how low-class this guy is.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

Imagine that you're a high-roller eager to show off this watch to your Redbar buddies. Then you get to the meetup and see a middle-class Manhattanite who drives an American car and sends his kids to public school wearing the same watch. Oh, the shame.

Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW!

Every year around this time I am reminded that the SALT deduction is capped at $10,000 and I get very, very angry. Republicans never met a tax that they didn't want to cut, so it was not about preserving government revenue. It was about giving high-tax blue states (and cities in my case) a big...

    Scent/Fragrance of the Day thread

Frederic Malle Uncut Gems. This is a very polarizing scent. To its fans, it's a signature-worthy masculine scent; to its detractors it's boring, designer-like, and unworthy of the label. For better or worse, it's FM's version of PDM Layton. I loved it at first sniff in the Malle boutique in...

Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW!

I'm UMC for DC but just above homeless for Manhattan.

Totally #FirstWorldProblems, but it's nearly impossible to find a Manhattan hotel room in my desired neighborhood (Soho/Tribeca) for the weekend for under $250/night, including taxes and fees. Don't hotels know that not all of us are UMC millionaires?

    The Official-ish DC Thread

Saw the Mark Rothko exhibit at the National Gallery of Art this morning. It’s fantastic if you’re an abstract art fan in general and a must-see if you’re a Rothko fan in particular. Catch it before it closes next weekend.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

It's not an issue so long as you like what you're buying in order to get access to what you really want. I've purchased art in part to start a relationship with a gallery for future transactions. I like the art I've bought and the possibility of additional purchases (not of a particular piece...

Do any ADs have a "no flipping" term for a set number of years in their contract of sale? It's quite common in the art world. I suppose it's easier to enforce with unique items.

If you're reading the Republican threak you might be interested in what to wear for the next pool party at Mar-a-Lago, so it's not entirely off base.
