SPIER & MACKAY - Official Affiliate Thread

Looking for opinions on this year's sweatshirt fit. I'm 6'2", fairly slim, normally wear S&M shirts in 15.5x35 contemporary, sportcoats in 40 Slim and trousers in 32 Contemp/33 Slim. I don't want a tight fit, but also not super loose. OK with a relaxed fit since they're sweatshirts. M or L?

Does anyone know if there are any CBSA offices in the Toronto area where you can self-clear imported items to avoid brokerage fees? Is Pearson Airport the only option?

I saw this and am tempted. I can’t keep track of the fit conversation around these. If I’m tall and slim and wear a 40 slim jacket in S&M would I order an M or L?

The ultimate penny loafers - does it exist?

Throw Topys on these and call it a day. https://www.spierandmackay.com/product/loafer-brown And on the Topy tip, I had some installed on a pair of shoes in spring of 2012 and they are still going strong (and I walk to my workplace).

I’m sure there are some social circles where wearing casuals suits or tailored clothing isn’t unusual (I don’t run in these circles myself). But I have to wonder if there are really enough people in these situations to allow stores like this to flourish without selling clothes people wear to...

Curious what others think. I’m torn between the Angelico triple patch pocket blazer (I actually don’t have a 100% wool sportcoat), denim blue sportcoat (would love to get the matching trousers later) and the green washed cotton sportcoat (since I already have the matching trousers). What would...

My favourite colour for cotton trousers. I own the surplus green chinos and green washed cotton trousers from Spier, as well as an olive pair of chinos and a pair of military style pants from other brands. My 10 year old olive cords just developed a hole in them so I’m on the hunt for replacements.

Some place in the Beaches called the Pony Club showed up on my IG feed. I’m sure I’ve spotted it before but never dared to enter. It looks...intriguing. Does anyone know what the deal is (i.e. what brands they carry). They don’t appear to have a website.

I’ve never heard of this happening, but I think it’s worth your while contacting their customer service to ask. When it comes to the suit-trouser-swap scenario, it seems their general concern is avoiding the need to break up an existing suit/trouser pair in the standard drop. Considering what...

I haven’t bought much from Brooks Brothers in the last couple of years, but boxing day was always a good time to pick something up for a great price. With the current lockdown, and the fact that there is no Canadian website to shop at, does anyone know if BB has offered any options to us?

I have a tan cotton suit (with patch pockets) and often wore the jacket with navy chinos. I enjoy the look.

Best wool / cashmere ribbed socks for autumn and winter?

I was going to start a similar thread but saw this post. My IG is inundated with ads for sock companies (they obviously know what I'm browsing), and there are some nice looking wool socks out there, but I have to imagine that there are companies who are not charging $30+ USD for a pair. I'd even...

Kamakura Shirts - Madison Ave Store

Those shirts look great and if they were my size I would be tempted to grab them. Is that first navy houndstooth one a linen shirt?

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)
