Hard to say. Maybe. The story idea is interesting. But I like to think I care more about substance than marketing. So to the degree there's some vision or story behind the product, I'd like more clear insight into how it actually translates into design and manufacture.- sm31

I'm confused: did you get measured in person, or not? And as I look at this pic, I'm wondering if one these gizmos, supplemented with a few extra measurements, and a picture of the feet, might be a feasible way to get a good fit?- sm31

FWIW ... I have normal width feet. But when I visited Moulded Shoe to try on some Alden ML awhile back, I also asked if they had any athletic shoes they recommended. They pointed me to the New Balance M990, which is on their SL-1 last. Given their range of lasts, and widths, I'd say NB is...- sm31

I don't know where you get this impression. Their website even encourages this ("Please bring the last suit fitted by us in order for us to gauge alterations in measurement as well as pattern. We aim to keep our records updated frequently so that garments will come out fitted as perfectly...- sm31

Alden Modified Last: If You Wear, or are Interested, Please Read
I don't believe they make the Banana last shoes anymore though. The P2 has been referred to as a a sleeker and more narrow version of the Banana, but it doesn't fit me as well as the Modified (which has a wider toebox) does. Possibly the 3636 or P3 may be closer, but am not sure myself.- sm31

So the toe on the P3 is both a bit wider than the P2, and also rounder? Vass describes the P2 as an asymmetric last. Does the P3 share that shape? How's the instep? And if you get a chance, comparison pic(s)?- sm31

I'm not sure the F would work for me though (and am sure the K or U wouldn't). The P2 does, but I'm not seeing any pics here of that last with this style. Maybe that itself should tell me something.- sm31
