    MC General Chat

Just curious and not necessarily disagreeing, but what is the evidence that LP, BC, and Hermes use relatively cheap construction? I have a couple Hermes sweaters and the construction is great, has details like reinforced armpit interiors that you don't typically see. I also have a number of LP...

    Cashmere Sweater Hierarchy

Does Hermes continue to make some of their sweaters in Scotland? Or is it only vintage Hermes that were made in Scotland? If they do, do we know who the manufacturer is?

    Cashmere Sweater Hierarchy

This is a great thread (no pun intended). However, I can't seem to find the actual "hierarchy", which I thought a few people posted. I'm curious to see how it shakes out. For example there's a similar thread about suits and the actual list of tiers was regularly updated by different people.

Fake or Real (Authentic, Genuine, etc.) -- Official Authentication Thread

I’m not familiar with Loro Piana using a red/burgundy tag like that. Maybe it’s an older piece because the tags have changed. Tough to tell other than that with those pictures.

Fake or Real (Authentic, Genuine, etc.) -- Official Authentication Thread

This looks legit to me. It's possible the tag came off and was re-sewn on. The LP tags are barely attached to the garment itself and often fall off. I'm guessing they want to disturb the material of the garment as little as possible?

    Cashmere Sweater Hierarchy

It's extremely soft, light and comfortable. I think compare to other lightweight high quality cashmere knits the difference might be subtle. Who are your favorite vicuna makers?

    Cashmere Sweater Hierarchy

This thread is amazing, so full of information and knowledge! I wanted to share my favorite sweater and an exciting new purchase. On the left is a Tom Ford 59% cashmere 41% wool turtleneck that's super chunky and warm. I've had this for a few years and it's been an immediate favorite...

Loro Piana "sweater jacket" -- does this fit me?

i have the option of returning it. I really like the construction, materials, and overall fit. But it seems to be intentionally long like this. I’m not sure if that’s how these things are supposed to fit.

Loro Piana "sweater jacket" -- does this fit me?

Thanks guys. I attached some better pictures, sorry if they're still not great. My concern is the length, especially in the back. I'm not sure how a piece like this is "supposed" to be in the length.

Loro Piana "sweater jacket" -- does this fit me?

I picked up a really nice Loro Piana "sweater jacket" and am confused about the fit. It fits great overall other than being strangely long at the bottom. I am 6'1" and have a pretty long torso so I have to assume this kind of piece is meant to fit long. When unbuttoned it goes totally over my...

Tom Ford clothing at markdown prices

Are there any online retailers or physical stores that carry prior season Tom Ford clothes at marked-down prices? They're tricky to find other than at Neiman Marcus, which tends to have the same (limited) pieces at around 55% off. Full price on a t-shirt, for example, is in the $400 range. I'm...

"What's Up With The Average Billionaire's Wardrobe?"

This article is a couple years old but it was interesting to me because it discusses fashion /designer choices for the ultra-rich men who often have other people do their shopping for them: http://observer.com/2015/07/whats-up-with-the-average-billionaires-wardrobe/ According to the author...
