The usual problem with that color. By the time you want it, you're usually not needing a suit. But weekends, perhaps, or if you live out in the desert? On the east coast, you can wear a lighter tan for business in the summer.

Nice large check! Could work as suit or sport jacket.

Alden's once-favorite shirtmaker, Maria Frittolini, has endorsed him.

Get samples first. Saw the book IRL this morning, and it is a bit fuzzier than the Fine Classics and Botany.

Both work well for an urban (i.e., fake) tweed. Perhaps the larger check will stand up to different shirts and ties better.

Sadly, my own choice for blazer is gone. That was sw5838.

I gave a length to NsM for trousers, and they gave it back. The seamstresses whom they use couldn’t deal with the strength of the canvas. So I had to use Whitcomb and Shaftesbury instead— which worked just fine.

This was the first order from Anderson and Sheppard, 25 years ago. It was doing fine but had been attacked by moths.

I was just talking about a SR tailor about this today. Fox's product line has more or less tripled in the last few years. They have designed and specified all of that, but there's no way that they tripled the number of mills they own in Somerset. So just as Lesser, Smiths, et al, contract...

What is the proper fit for leather loafers?

Apart from flaws on any particular sample, Alden does a pretty ruthless paint job on their loafers, especially the #8. Those aren't purple in nature.

No, I suppose it is in roughly the same sandbox. Maybe an analogue of the Harrisons Fine Classics.
