How much can chestnut be darkened by creams and polishes? Continued use of dark brown/tobacco cream and polish. I’ve just got some Roberts in chestnut and do like the colour but also like a brown that’s slightly darker.- cb1998

Don't go the adhesive route, stitching is a permanent solution. Why do they fit looser? The 2298 is a smaller last.- cb1998

You could just get a cobbler to stitch in some leather to reinforce it. That'll have the added bonus of padding out the instep slightly giving you slightly more ability to tighten them more (I also have a low instep so I get the frustrations associated). Or, I am sure Trickers would do this for...- cb1998
