The duck canvas on this jacket has incredible texture. The colour is also beautiful and not as difficult to pull off as some might imagine. The canvas will age and patina beautifully with time.
It is completely unworn and has been kept in it's suit carrier at all times. I'll send it in the Drake's suit carrier (pictured) but it does not come with the hanger.
Drake's no longer makes the chore in this fabric, but this is what the brand had to say about it:
Crafted from a robust 12.6oz cotton duck, a tightly woven cotton fabric with two yarns in the warp and a single yarn in the weft for a smooth, plain weave less prone to tears, the name is derived from from the dutch word for cotton - ‘doek’ - and since 1899 has been used for sails, tents and, of course, workwear.
In doing so, we have created a piece of clothing with all the utility of a chore jacket – a surfeit of pockets; a comfortable, roomy shape – that will age and patinate beautifully over the years.
Finishing things off with classic copper rivets and you have an unbeatable everyday jacket, unmatched in its durability and timeless design. If you feel so inclined, you could even wear it to do your chores. It won’t let you down.
Measurements (taken with the jacket laid flat):
Shoulder to shoulder: 45.5cm
Chest (pit to pit): 55cm
Sleeve: 63
Length (from bottom of collar) 75.5cm
The original cost was £495.
It was bought from Drake's in Savile Row and not at any archive sale
