I thought i'd make a new thread as the last ones on this topic are over 5 years old and the MTM landscape seems to have changed since then.

I need some advice on getting my first MTM suit. I am about to transition to a full time role and will be wearing suits daily. I've got a typical suit from M J Bale that cost me a fortune to make adjustments and replace the belt loops with side adjustors.

I've decided to go down the MTM route. Any thoughts on the best place to go in Sydney for a MTM suit in the $1,200 region?

I'm not just interest in price, as i'm more than willing to pay a few hundred more for a better 'quality' suit (whatever your interpretation). I'm also mindful that I will be getting a whole heap of suits/overcoats/pants/shirts made in the coming few years, so I want to go somewhere i can build a relationship with the tailor over the years.

Any thoughts/experiences?

With a budget around $1,200 you'd certainly be looking at the half-canvassed offerings from Suit Shop and Oscar Hunt. It gives you a nice affordable transition from MJ Bale to MTM.

After your first MTM, I would then have a good think about your personal style and whether it aligns with the house styles offered by P Johnson and other tailors.

An ex employee told me that Suit Shop and Oscar Hunt use the same third party contractor in Shanghai.
