Not to disparage the photos, LK, as they are quite stylish, but I always look to see a certain consanguinity between a person and their car. I don't really see that -- I love both women and E-types , but not a woman who languishes in one.
Once I saw a white, convertible corvette in NJ, being driven by a blonde in sunglasses, her tresses dancing in the slipstream behind her. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. Everything clicked, her personality owned the car. It was palpable. When I saw her license plate, it was the cherry on the cake -- 'STUNING'

Ah, but that is Francoise Sagan, the writer who achived fame at 18 for writing Bonjour Tristesse. After getting the royalties she promptly bought a Ferrari for herself and a mink for her mother. She was well-known for her penchant for exceptionally fast cars, drugs, and gambling. She once personally asked the French Interior Minister to ban her from casinos in light of the enormous debts she accumulated. In 1957 she sustained an extreme head trauma for speeding in her Aston Martin.

In the '60s during the numerous protests she turned up at a certain Socialist demonstration in an exotic Italian car, ramming into a barricade. One of the comrades asked "What was Comrade Sagan doing in a Ferrari?" She replied "It's not a Ferrari, it's a Maserati."
