Today was supposed to be an easy 60 minute run at 8:30/mile, and I felt a little too good and it became a somewhat vigorous 60 minutes at 8:10/mile. One of those days where no matter how much I tried, my pace kept slowly getting faster every time my mind wandered.
One of my goals this year is to to get my easy pace down to 8:00/mile.
Yes, that is my marathon goal. I figure an 8:00min/mile easy pace would put my marathon pace at 7:00min/mile marathon pace, which is striking distance to a 3 hour marathon. But I'm not trying to rush my way there. I'd love to be there for Tokyo 2025. My short term goal is 3:15 which I think I can do this fall if things go well and I don't get an injury. Are you aiming for a three hour marathon?
