I'm looking for a set that strikes a balance between durability and affordability. Stainless steel seems like a good option, but I'm open to suggestions if there are better materials out there. I also want to consider design and ergonomics for comfortable everyday use. Do you have any favorite brands or specific sets you swear by? Any tips on where to find good deals or what to look for when making a purchase? Thanks in advance for your help!
Hmmm, what do mean by set, and what is the budget range in which you are looking? Happy to help with suggestions as well as I can.

I have one of the custom prototypes of this Alan Folt's designs, originally called the Alan Folts Linear (for obvious reasons) with antique ivory micarta and bronze/purple anodized liners, bolster, and hardware. I don't use it often, but like to bring it to barbeques, and see the look on my friends' faces when someone asks for a knife to cut their steak or an apple or something, and I hand over this obvious custom.

Now, CRKT has made a high end production version, which loots really good, and has great reviews. I'm going to get one, and post them side by side here. Colors and steel excepted, it looks nearly the same in design.

Presenting, the CRKT Obverse, my next knife: https://www.crkt.com/knife/obverse-blue-folding-knife-with-liner-lock

I caved an bought this - Damasteel, Japanese denim micarta inlays, vegetal tanned leather sheath, and too expensive for what is basically a toy - it's hard to be more Styleforum than that: The WESN Founder's Series Damasteel microknife:

I was also fortunate enough to pick up this GEC earlier - one of the few drops I have not missed, and the black richlite is amazing:

Anos has folder called the Aros. Looks like a nice little flipper that would make a great everyday carry. I’d go for natural micarta or ultem. Amber hardware.

I like it, but either titanium or
titanium with inlaid micarta scales for me. Not sure how ultem would hold up long term, with exposure to salt, UV, etc... either cosmetically or structurally.

Ultem looks cool and is supposed to be durable but you might be right.

The richlite black/brown looks nice too. I'm not a big carbon fiber guy so I'd pass on that.

I suspect if it sells well a full titanium version will come down the line.

I might have asked this before, but what's the best place to flip knives? Bladeforum or eBay? I might flip my Jack Wolves down the line.

Think I’m going to order this soon in natural micarta with amber hardware. I wish they had an option for a satin finish blade but otherwise looks perfect as an EDC.

His satin is nice (I have a Monte Carlo with a Satin blade), but stonewash holds up so much better.
