Ok so maybe I don't know about that top anymore. I've changed my mind as to whether this is a good idea: http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k3...stockings2.jpg maroon/purple shirt with mandarin style collar, white bias frill skirt, black stockings.

I actually like that look better than the last one you posted. A bit less monochromatic and good for a summer evening.

Definitely better than the last one, though the skirt would look better if it were asymmetrical and significantly longer on one side. As it is now, it looks particularly unbalanced next to the shirt blousing out from the waist on one side and the long stockings on the other.

coldrice, how much was the c-plus beanie? I tried messageding 2000dB about it, but he never responded, and I can't find it anywhere on Rakuten.

The skirt is actually the same length all the way round cept with a long tasselly bit on the side. It looks unbalanced probably because it's riding up on one side over stockings and i'm not standing straight. I'm not sure about the shirt because of the flare at the bottom. thanks for the advice.

No, unbalanced aesthetically. It looks symmetrical now, which is part of the problem.
