I've emailed them about two weeks ago, no reply though... Sent another email today, but I guess they've closed down for Christmas.
Worth checking after the new year. There’s also a number of postal and parcel strikes going on currently slowing things down generally - Combined with the holiday influx of packages it made sending off perishable Christmas gifts to the UK and Italy interesting.

this is probably the reason. since they tend to send these with royal mail

Has anyone here ordered fabric samples from Fox? I placed an order with them about a month ago. Got it shipped a week later (2/12) and still haven't received it...

Funny you should mention this. I placed an order for some swatches in November, still havent received it. I emailed a few times till ingot a response. They mentioned a postal strike in UK. We will have to sit tight or order them with upgraded courier shipping to avoid the postal service.

On the topic of shirting. Anyone have suggestions on a formal shirt? Just pulled mine out of the bag and realized I’m getting near the end of its life. Thomas Mason has some marcala for a front but I was contemplating a pique in lieu of poplin.

Consider getting body and sleeves from linen, no matter what bib, collar, and cuffs wind up doing. Formal often implies overheated rooms.

I don’t think that you can beat the Permanent Style denim or chambray.

I disliked a shirt that I had made using the Permanent Style “lighter denim”. The fading was so extreme around the seams and wear points as to seem artificial, reminiscent of a pair of Dsquared jeans or something like that.

May I ask if anyone could recommend me any sources for denim or chambray shirting fabrics ?

Thanks ,
Konstantis

Konstanti, Hi

Gerry Petratos in Athens had (not long time ago) a Carlo Riva chambray bolt; not inexpensive, but really nice. They are the representatives for Greece of the said brand, so you may give them a call.

Acorn (I have a sample) is also quite nice, albeit in a different category.
