I wouldn't with this one since the knit is fairly loose and stretchy. I'm usually a M/L and this is too large for me, especially the neck opening.

What he said, though with some caveats. I have 3 Chamula handknits in an XL (I'm usually a M/L). 2 fit great, if an easy fit. My ivory one, similarly, is too big and has too big of a neck opening. Need to put it up for sale, honestly. The gold fishermans, and the brown turtleneck, both fit perfectly in the chest and sleeve length, and going down a size might have been too small.

yes i sized up on this from M to L and feel its the correct fit. it loosens up but i'm happy with how it has worn over the past two years.
