None of these are my size, but I enjoy scouring the images nonetheless to examine your bookshelf (and the Vass are very nice)...

How is McKeon's Secret Life of Domesticity? Worth the length? I liked Origins of the English Novel.

The confession I'll only make on this clothing forum (given I've written professionally about histories of domestic fiction) is that I haven't read McKeon through. I've referenced much of it, though, and it's undoubtedly worth dipping in and out of. But I guess I haven't (yet?) felt it worth the time, given the length. I'd also recommend Nancy Armstrong's Desire and Domestic Fiction (assuming you haven't already read this) if you're interested in both the history of domesticity and the formation of the (British) novel.

And thanks for the kind words - I'll try to vary the shelves I use to keep your scouring interesting going forward. The one thing I have more of than clothes is dry academic texts!
