agreed, it's subjective and it's hard to understand, if you have never handled a balanced pair of shoes. either it's english, italian, french, spanish or of A-H origin.
the darlton is by no means not a good pair of shoes. i just wanted to understand the hype. i don't stand back to critizize shoes from e.g. vass or the usual aspects. so what?

I suppose this is really subjective. Many would say the same about the shoes made in the Austro-Hungarian tradition that you so covet.
